— Lifted flowers, white peach, wet stone leap out of the glass with notes of gunflint and citrus meld to add complexity and fragrance, on the palate the wine is focused and streamlined, with a core of concentrated fruit built around a seam of natural acidity.

TASTING NOTES
100% grown from Wairarapa fruit in an accurate reflection of the district’s unique terroir.

Escarpment Martinborough Chardonnay displays powerful opulent flavours and a flinty mineral backbone which combine beautifully with barrel fermentation to create Burgundian inspired Chardonnay.

Flavours are reminiscent of white stone fruit with delightful soft texture ensuring a long commanding finish. Partial malolactic fermentation and lees stirring has enhanced the texture, complexity and mouth feel allowing it to match most entrée dishes and seafood. Cellar for up to five years or more

Intense chardonnay with vanilla, ripe apple, grapefruit, oyster shell and lemon curd. Good mouth-feel with a lingering finish. Delicious now but with moderate cellaring potential. Flattered by a seasoning of spicy oak 22 May 2024 Drink 2023–2037
