Tasting Notes
Hoddles Creek Estate Chardonnay is a true reflection of the Yarra Valley’s cool-climate finesse, crafted from premium estate-grown fruit. Winemaker Franco D’Anna delivers a wine of precision and poise, showcasing his talent for balancing richness with restraint.
The nose opens with vibrant aromas of lemon zest, grapefruit, and white peach, underpinned by subtle notes of vanilla and well-judged oak. On the palate, a creamy texture is lifted by bright, integrated acidity, creating a Chardonnay that’s both elegant and complex, yet incredibly approachable.
Versatile and food-friendly, it pairs beautifully with everything from grilled seafood and light salads to creamy pasta dishes—all while offering exceptional value for a wine of such quality and pedigree.

95 / 100"Juicy white fruit, grapefruit, aniseed, a little struck match, almond paste, cinnamon and clove spice. It’s packed with flavour, white nectarine and nutty spicy characters, a flinty grip to texture, quite some intensity and power here, and in some respects it seems more Beechworth than Yarra, or so I think. Pear and citrus, lime rind, with excellent length of flavour. It’s elemental as at now, and a little raw, though I reckon it will deliver with a couple of years in bottle. It’s a cracking release.
