Tasting Notes
La Mission Haut-Brion stands out as a graceful counterpart to its sibling estate, Haut-Brion, united by a centuries-old heritage and the prized Graves terroir of Haut-Brion. Since its revival under the Dillon family in 1983, the estate has consistently produced wines of profound depth and balance. The 2024 vintage, shaped by a challenging season, is a triumph of skill and terroir. Concentrated, silky, and magnificently expressive, a benchmark of opulence and finesse.

Scores
97 / 100"A precise, classic vintage showing depth of fruit, but with beautiful austerity and minerals. Mostly red fruit, with touches of dark cherries and currants. Medium- to full-bodied with very fine-etched tannins and lots of brightness. So long and refined in the finish, showing restraint. 51% cabernet sauvignon, 46.5% merlot and 2.5% cabernet franc. - James Suckling"

"Château La Mission Haut-Brion gave me a jolt of surprise in 2024. The elegance it displays is something I haven’t seen in recent warm vintages. Soft, tender blueberry, refined violet, and a distant, mysterious trace of sandalwood rise like a breeze around the nose, bringing a fleeting moment of wonder and emotion. What this wine offers is the kind of poise one expects from a top Bordeaux after two decades of aging, yet here it is, already quietly present in its youth. While the vintage may not stand out for its concentration, it moves with the dignity of an old-money lineage – a calm and measured grace shaped by time and adversity. This is a wine to be carefully cellared by those who truly understand its depth and distinction. - Alexandre Ma"
