Tasting Notes
Bibi Graetz Colore Toscana IGT 2018 is a masterful expression of Tuscany’s ancient terroir, crafted from vines over 70 years old. This premium red blend combines 90% Sangiovese, with 5% Colorino and 5% Canaiolo, sourced from the renowned Siena, Lamole, and Vincigliata vineyards. The poor, sandy, and stony soils impart a distinct mineral complexity that speaks to the region’s rich viticultural heritage.
On the nose, Colore Toscana reveals delicate and enticing aromas of plum, vanilla, crushed mint, and fragrant blue flowers. The palate is elegantly structured and savory, showcasing focused flavors of Marasca cherry, orange rind, mocha, and licorice. This wine offers a refined balance with taut, polished tannins and vibrant acidity, providing both depth and freshness.
Aged for 30 months, this Gran Vin highlights the finesse and power that come from very old vines, delivering a wine that is both expressive and age-worthy. With a 94/100 rating from Wine Enthusiast, it is recommended for drinking from 2023 through 2033, promising a rewarding experience for collectors and connoisseurs alike.

99 / 100"This is the best ever with incredible depth and focus. The polished tannins display energy and balance. Everything is together. Blackberry, black cherry, mushroom and wet earth. Goes on for minutes. So approachable, but one for the cellar. Mostly from Lamole. Superb"

"90% Sangiovese, 5% Canaiolo, 5% Colorino. A mild, stable vintage across Tuscany with few extreme weather incidents. Sunny and dry around harvest with cool nights and no heat spikes. Vintage started end September, finished mid October. Graetz explained that there was no green harvest, now favouring letting the vine find its own equilibrium. Very restrained and pure on both the nose and palate, this is extremely youthful but will evolve into a fine Colore. Manages to be both soft in texture yet with plenty of structure for the long-haul. Dark, bitter-cherry notes mingle with an intriguing note of dark soy sauce, as well as violet and fresh pine on the nose. Great freshness and length on the finish. (AH)"
