Tasting Notes
This is not your average pink gin liqueur. Lobo’s Quince Gin Liqueur is cloudy-gold, rustic, and achingly pretty — a slow infusion of poached quince and gin that tastes like it was made in a farmhouse kitchen where the stove is always on.
The nose is instantly luscious: baked quince, orange peel, allspice, and cinnamon sugar. There’s a cider-like tang beneath the syrup — a freshness that lifts the sweetness before it gets sticky.
On the palate: warm poached fruit, cardamom, clove, and candied ginger all come through. The gin botanicals lend backbone — juniper, coriander, and a brush of pepper — but they play second fiddle to the quince, which is soft, fragrant, and autumnal.
Serve it chilled, over ice, or use it as the base for a seasonal spritz with sparkling wine and rosemary. It’s also a knockout in a white Negroni riff, where the sweetness offsets gentian bitterness.
The finish is gentle, spiced, and golden. This is a fireside pour, a picnic dram, or a cocktail anchor — a liqueur made with love, fruit, and patience.
