Fruit, Fire, and the Confidence to Be Both
Flavoured tequila has a reputation. This bottle rewrites it.
Rooster Rojo Smoked Pineapple isn't about shortcuts or sugar. It's about taking a real spirit - built from 100% Blue Weber agave - and pushing it somewhere unexpected. Somewhere tropical, smoky, and just a little wild. Not with artificial sweetness. Not with gimmicks. But with patience, process, and a clear creative idea: what if pineapple could add flavour, not flatten it?
The tequila is distilled in Mexico using traditional methods and volcanic spring water. The pineapple? Real Red Spanish - a variety chosen for its vibrant acidity and natural sweetness - slow-roasted to concentrate its flavour and deepen its character. Post-distillation, that fruit is macerated and infused directly into the blanco base. The result is flavour-forward, but never fake.
On the nose, it's exactly what it claims to be - grilled pineapple, toasted agave, and charred wood. There's caramelised fruit, yes, but also a savoury undertone - vanilla, burnt sugar, dried spice. It smells like a beach fire pit after dark. The kind you gather around, glass in hand.
On the palate, it opens juicy and tropical, but with depth. Pineapple jam, cinnamon, and roasted citrus hit first. Then comes a layer of smoke - not mezcal-level intensity, but enough to anchor the sweetness and keep it grounded. There's roasted agave here, too - a flash of green herb, a thread of minerality - just enough to remind you: this is tequila first.
The finish holds. A little char, a little warmth, and the lasting brightness of citrus peel and wood smoke. Not syrupy. Not soft. Just a long, clean exit with a tropical pulse.
This bottle belongs on the back bar, not the gimmick shelf. Sip it straight from the freezer for a no-effort closer. Build it into a Smoked PiNa Colada, a charred-fruit Old Fashioned, or a Pineapple Negroni with bitter orange and amaro. Want to keep it simple? Shake it with fresh lime and TajIn salt for a two-ingredient Margarita that doesn't need a liqueur.
It's versatile. But more importantly, it's intentional. The smoke is balanced. The sweetness is real. The flavour is full - and the tequila never gets lost.
Rooster Rojo Smoked Pineapple is proof that flavoured doesn't have to mean forgettable. It's tequila with a twist - not a mask.
And once you've poured it, you'll get why it earns its place.
