Tasting Notes
Château Cos d’Estournel is a wine of majestic character, shaped by centuries of vision and a terroir of rare distinction. From its exotic pagodas to its deep-rooted vines, Cos has always stood apart in the Médoc, unapologetically bold, yet unwaveringly elegant. The 2024 vintage benefits from the estate’s finest plots and oldest vines, producing a wine of polished power and aromatic intrigue. Layers of black fruit, licorice, and spice are wrapped in a silken texture, unfolding into a long, sophisticated finish. As ever, Cos d’Estournel walks the line between strength and finesse with singular flair.

Scores
98 / 100"Subtle and profound, the bouquet of Cos reveals nuances of elderberry, blackcurrant, and red berries. These are complemented by freshness through vegetal floral notes, licorice wood, and mint. Dense on the attack, the wine displays its finesse with subtlety. It is aware of its vigor, but does not seek exuberance. It channels this power through a healthy acidity that is as structuring as it is refreshing. A wine that has not yet fully revealed itself, but is already able to highlight its greatness. A truly great success! A fresh, fruity, and persistent finish. 2032-2054 - Yves Beck"

"The 2024 Cos d'Estournel could very well be one of the wines of the vintage. Bright and vibrant in the glass, with tons of energy, the 2024 impresses with its vertical structure, depth and overall balance. Blue/purplish fruit, spice, new leather, lavender and mocha are beautifully delineated throughout. The 2024 is super-classic. The modest 12.8% alcohol is notable, especially because that also means there is less extraction of wood. Cos is one of my early favorites in 2024. - Antonio Galloni"
