Tasting Notes

Chateau de Laubade is an agricultural and winegrowing estate located in Sorbets, in the Gers, in the heart of the finest Bas Armagnac terroir. The 105 hectares estate in a single block around the chateau, built in 1870, it has been owned by the Lesgourgues family for three generations. Today, Denis, assisted by his sister, Jeanne, and brother, Arnaud, continue their family’s constant striving for excellence, with the aim of producing the most outstanding Armagnacs. Appearance: Burnished gold with mahogany hues. Nose: Sublime nose of dried fig, cedar, old oak, waxed leather, and exotic spice. Palate: Ethereal and layered — flavours of fruit leather, orange marmalade, old varnish, and herbal tea. Finish: Very long, with an elegant interplay of spice, wood, and aged fruit. Overall: A true collector’s Armagnac — delicate, meditative, and remarkably alive after 60 years.
