Tasting Notes
Crafted in response to the changing climate and the pursuit of sustainable excellence, Collection 245 marks the 245th blend by Louis Roederer and reflects the freedom and forward-thinking ethos of the House.
Based on the exceptional 2020 vintage, a dry and sunlit year of perfect maturity, Collection 245 is built on a foundation of 55% base wine, showcasing full-bodied structure and aromatic precision. To this, 35% of the evolving Perpetual Reserve, a solera-style blend initiated in 2012, is added for freshness and energy. Finally, 10% oak-aged reserve wines, sourced from young Cristal estate plots and aged in large French foudres, lend depth, spice, and complexity.
The result is a finely tuned multi-vintage Champagne of remarkable character: rich citrus and yellow fruits, a hint of smokiness, and a poised, mineral backbone. Aged for nearly 4 years before release, Collection 245 shows both generous flavour and exceptional ageing potential.
Sourced from the heart of Champagne, La Rivière, La Montagne, and La Côte—each component is chosen for its ability to express the region’s finest terroirs while contributing to the Roederer style: vibrant, structured, and enduring.
