Tasting Notes
Peter Lehmann Wines is a family-owned estate founded in 1979 in the heart of South Australia’s Barossa Valley. With a focus on sourcing fruit from a network of long-standing grower partners, the winery combines modern cellar techniques with respect for traditional Barossa winemaking. Their Mentor label represents the finest parcels selected each vintage to showcase the region’s signature intensity and finesse.
A blend of 63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Merlot and 16% Shiraz, this stunning wine hails from a fabulous vintage for Cabernet Sauvignon in the Barossa. With a dense black centre and a garnet rim, it showcases classic Cabernet aromas of cassis, mint leaf and mixed spice with aged notes of cigar box and cedar wood. The palate is rich and deeply-fruited yet still offers elegance and poise with savoury layers of redcurrant and cassis driven by vibrant acidity with underlying notes of tea leaf, earth and spice.
