Tasting Notes
Burgundy Domaines such as this are a rare find – even more exceptional because the vineyard holdings here are almost entirely made up of Grand Cru and Premier Cru parcels in Vosne/Echézeaux.
The Echézeaux Grand Cru vineyard, located just below Grands-Echézeaux, is renowned for its complexity and richness. Domaine François Lamarche’s holdings are situated in a prime section of the vineyard, producing wines with a perfect balance of power and finesse.
The 2013 vintage was notably cooler and more challenging, with rain and hail affecting yields. However, the vintage still produced wines with a high level of elegance and freshness. The 2013 Echézeaux from Lamarche offers bright red fruit, such as cranberry and raspberry, with delicate floral and spicy notes. The wine shows fine acidity and gentle tannins, resulting in a polished and balanced structure. While more restrained than warmer vintages, this Echézeaux is a wine of subtlety and grace, with the potential to develop further with time in the bottle.

93 / 100""A discreetly spicy and once again restrained nose displays plenty of floral character on the cool mix of red and black pinot fruit and earth-infused scents. The supple and very suave flavors possess good volume and a beguiling texture before concluding in a firm, saline and serious finish where the firm supporting tannins suggest that they will need at least a decade to resolve, perhaps more.""
