Opaque dark purple black colour with a purple red hue. The nose displays aromas of dark cherries, liquorice and plum over some vanillin cedar and spice. Medium bodied with a quite elegant feel the palate has flavours of dark cherries and liquorice followed by vanillin cedar and earth with a very spicy peppered finish. Dry, fine grained tannins. Aftertaste of spicy ripe dark cherries, liquorice, vanillin cedar and pepper.

Scores
92 / 100"We only seem to see Stone Dwellers Shiraz every few years but it rarely disappoints. This is Strathbogie Ranges shiraz, from vines planted in 1999, with French oak staves employed. It’s spicy, it’s well fruited, it’s pretty. It works. It’s an excellent wine to tuck into. It’s basically cherried, red and black, with peppercorn, florals and black pepper notes. Emphasis on the florals. It starts, runs and finishes well. Tannin is ripe and fine. Easy to recommend."
