Tasting Notes
The profound Jack Mann Cabernet, based on the Justin Vineyard in the Great Southern region, is made in honour of pioneering Western Australian winemaker Jack Mann. Crushed blackcurrant/dark cherry/ mulberry/ herb garden aromas, beautiful concentration, muscular but round granular perfectly ripe tannins and tremendous drive of flavours. The wine is fermented in small vats before maturation in new and one-year old French oak barriques for 14 to 18 months.

Scores
97 / 100"The most powerful and concentrated of all the deluxe/icon wines in the Houghton range, a distillation of blackcurrant, black olive, bay leaf and cedary oak, the tannins lined up in a haughty (sorry for the pun) support. No compromise here - the wine would have pleased Jack Mann enormously."

"Deep, dark, dense, rare minerally core, perfume of lavender and gum leaf, black olive, dark cherry and dark chocolate, with gentle mocha oak in support. Medium to full bodied, fine point chocolate and inky tannin, clean length. Slight, but noticeable pepperiness on the finish. It''s a very purple tasting wine, boysenberry and the like, if you take my meaning. It''s a very good Jack Mann too, though it''s fair to say, I''ve never had a bad one."
