Tasting Notes
The Symposium is a blend of Shiraz and Mourvedre, in equal parts. Two varieties that truly go together, complementing each other with rich texture and flavour.
A blend of 50% Shiraz and 50% Mourvedre with the rich Shiraz complementing the earthy, spicy characters of the Mourvedre. Matured in older French and American oak for 18 - 23 months. This wine develops great complexity as the two varieties meld together with a few years in bottle.

95 / 100"The Marius Tannins ™. A treatise. Blackcurrant jubes, faint eucalyptus, brambles and peppery spice. Nose and mouth in agreeance, more jubey in the palate, though that tannin grip sorts that out pretty quick. Flavourtown and then the rolling, stony pucker. Wonderful stuff. It’s a hearty, deep red of easy drinking, but one that sits you back in your seat a bit with its oomph."

"Juicy, port wine jelly flavour, sage and scrub. It’s medium-bodied, fine lick of stony tannin, some mint perfume in the mix, pulls savoury and a little beefy, with generosity and red berry flavours on a pretty long finish. It’s not ‘classic’ Marius vineyard and pedigree, as such, but gee, it’s a rollicking and tasty drink"
