95 / 100"This is instantly appealing on the nose showing dark and purple fruit intensity with anise, roasted nut and floral notes. The richly expressed palate displays excellent weight and roundness, finishing gorgeously long and supple. At its best: now to 2036"

Tasting Notes
Sourced from the highest sections of Maverick's Trial Hill Vineyard as it stretches towards the Eden Valley. This section of the Barossa experiences cooler nights and imbues this wine with a complex mix of red and blue fruits, sandy tannins and fine, exceptionally well-integrated acidity.
"An historic and distinctive flat-topped, stone pine tree marks the highest point in the Barossa. The "Monkey Nut Tree", as it is known locally, overlooks our Trial Hill Vineyard"
Intense aromas of ripe, concentrated blackberries, black currant and satsuma plum with Asian spice, old leather and earthy characters adding to the complex aromas
