This perfumed Syrah has notes of spicy citrus rind, refined black fruit, violets and lilies. The palate is elegant and restrained with a silky texture balanced by a fresh, natural acidity. The finish is long with supple tannins. Best served at 16 to 18 °C, this wine will greatly benefit from decanting if drunk within the first 3 to 5 years after bottling.

Scores
94 / 100"Weighty load of granitic earth with plenty of elegant fruit. A powerful start. Very savoury on the palate with dried herbs, a la Southern Rhone garrigue and oily plump black olives covered in these herbs. The inevitable comparisons of the Old World come to mind. Is there anything like Old/New World anymore? Anyway, tannins are judicious, velvety. It’s bloody, meaty, chewy and with a cool finish. One of those wines that make a delicious statement with a few, but pure and great quality components."
