Tasting Notes
Pyren vineyard basks in the sunshine of the glorious Warrenmang valley in the Victorian Pyrenees. Under careful management, the precious low-yielding vines have produced top quality fruit.
Winemaker Leighton Joy has employed hands-off winemaking, letting the vineyard take the lead role in the final wine, and pure Victorian elegance is the result. Delicious!
Deep red purple. Very fragrant lift of blackberry, plum, dark cherry, black pepper and clove. Immense palate of blueberry compote and red berries, alluring amaro and dried herb complexity, savoury and ferrous tannins, and beautifully perfumed barrel.

Scores
96 / 100"Immensely complex and engaging, the bouquet shows dark plum, bouquet garni, fennel, star anise and nutmeg aromas, followed by a concentrated palate displaying refined texture backed by juicy acidity and layers of polished tannins. Gorgeously styled and expressed with a persistent, robust finish. At its best: now to 2037. $90.00. www.pyrenvineyard.com. June 2024."
