Tasting Notes
First released in 1953, Para Liqueur Tawny, is an important symbol of Australia’s fine wine tradition. This wine is commonly known as ‘Para Port’ and is based on Grenache, Shiraz and Mataro, matured in seasoned oak barrels for around 28 years. Nowadays Para Port is a 100% single-vintage fortified wine matured in seasoned oak barrels for around 28 years. A warm environment promotes evaporation, concentration of aromas and flavours, and increased viscosity. About 3% or so is lost each year is referred to as ‘the angels’ share. This ‘tawny’ style, at 19% alc/vol, offers rich fruit complexity, generous panforte/ raisin flavours, superb density and great length.
