95 / 100"Deep purple colour; lavish amounts of everything are to be found in this wine: a cascade of black fruits ranging through blackcurrant, blackberry, mulberry, plum and licorice; firm tannins are in balance with the fruit; all the fruit and tannins are wrapped in a thick coating of French oak. Drink now if you are likely to take a $130 bottle to a barbecue, and, failing this, it needs up to 10 years in the cellar to calm down and learn manners."

"Deep purple/red dense colour. Chocolate, vanilla and toasty oak aromas. The palate is full-bodied and firm, tight and concentrated, density and flesh are the hallmarks. Packed and supple, plush and velvet, smooth and supple, fruit sweet but not over the top, with chocolate and fruitcake flavours. Ample tannins provide big structure. Very long."
