This Grand Cru wine captivates with a floral lift and vibrant energy, showcasing the finesse and complexity that define Domaine Dujac’s signature style.

Vinified using whole-bunch fermentation and indigenous yeasts, this 2012 vintage undergoes 14 to 18 months aging in French oak barrels, imparting remarkable depth and vibrancy. The meticulous process enhances the wine’s structure while preserving its elegant aromatics and nuanced layers.

There is a lot going on in the 2012 Echezeaux. Savory and floral notes appear first, followed by darkish fruit and brighter, mintier notes. The interplay of lifted, perfumed aromatics and intense energy is simply dazzling. I very much like the nuance and focus here.

Saturated dark red. Sappy aromas of red cherry, ripe red berries and spices; shows an almost liqueur-like quality. Then very ripe, silky and feminine on the palate, showing a fine-grained texture to its intense flavors of raspberry, flowers and spices. Less explosive on the back end than the Malconsorts and perhaps a bit oakier today. But I like the surprisingly subtle effect of the 100% whole-cluster fermentation.
