TASTING NOTES

Eisenstone Hoffmann Dallwitz Vyd Ebenezer Shiraz 2021 is a distinguished single vineyard wine crafted from the historic Dallwitz Block, a vineyard planted predominantly between 1888 and 1912. This exceptional Shiraz showcases the unique character of rows 25-30, sourced from vines over 70 years old, ensuring a depth of complexity and elegance rarely found in contemporary wines.

Fermented in small batches, this wine benefits from meticulous craftsmanship and minimal intervention throughout the winemaking process. It is matured for 20 months in 50% new French oak barrels, imparting refined structure and subtle oak nuances without overpowering the natural fruit expression. The wine is neither cold stabilized nor filtered, preserving its authentic texture and vibrant flavors.

Receiving an impressive 99 points from The Real Review, this Shiraz is celebrated for its balance, concentration, and aging potential. It promises to evolve gracefully, with the capacity to mature until at least 2040, making it a worthy addition for collectors and connoisseurs alike.

Originating from a region renowned for its heritage vines and pristine terroir, the 2021 vintage captures the essence of a cool climate that enhances the wine’s aromatic complexity and fine tannins. The Eisenstone Hoffmann Dallwitz Vyd Ebenezer Shiraz 2021 is a refined expression of Australian Shiraz, offering rich dark fruit, layered spice, and a lingering finish that reflects its prestigious lineage.

Scores

99/100

Deepest of purple at the core, barely fading into the rim. Aromas of mulberry, dark chocolate, dried woody herbs and boudin noir fill the nose. The palate fills with the same intensity the nose experienced. Dark and rich fruit is entwined with chocolate, ironstone and dried herb complexities. Tannins are very subtle, yet clearly carrying a great power to ensure the intensity of this wine remains focused. Line and length are prodigious, it lingers for an age on the palate yet still offers a freshness to the end that delights. Has a huge future for many years ahead of it
