Tasting Notes
This is Glenrothes unfiltered, straight from the cask’s soul. It pours copper red — like stained mahogany in candlelight. The nose is full of Sherry swagger: sultana, orange peel, spiced toffee, gingerbread, and dark chocolate. It smells rich, but with rhythm.
On the palate, it’s full-bodied and bold. Raisin cake, toffee apple, cinnamon stick, and a dash of nutmeg. There’s a pulse of candied orange, a whisper of clove, and a backbone of sweet oak. Despite the weight, there’s clarity — each note plays its part.
Mid-palate brings dried figs, honeycomb, marmalade on brown toast, and just a lick of almond. It’s warming, luxurious, but never cloying. The 48.8% brings it all to life.
The finish is long, warming, and wrapped in spiced fruit and oak. A dram that delivers everything you want from a Sherry bomb — with restraint, style, and intent. This is the heartbeat of Glenrothes in a bottle.
