Coming from a single vineyard in the sleepy little village of Echunga, known for producing some of the biggest names in South Australian Chardonnay.
Extraordinarily for the price, this wine was 100% hand picked fruit, then saw 25% new French oak in the cellar.
This wine boasts melon, white peach, and citrus notes with floral and nectarine aromas, intense Chardonnay flavors, ginger, and a touch of almond from French oak," absolutely exceptional".

Tasting Notes

The winemaking team of Tim Freeland and Domenic Torzi source precious vines from the Adelaide Plains, Barossa Valley and the Adelaide Hills’ hamlet of Forreston.

Coupled with their non-interventional approach to winemaking, Longhop wines are lush, generous and full of flavour - and arguably some of the absolute best value wines in the country.

Longhop aim for elegance, restraint and fruit purity. There’s generosity of flavour, incredible intensity and freshness to the melon, white peach and subtle citrus characters. To smell it’s lifted with white flowers, citrus, and nectarine notes, then follows with flavourful and intense pure Chardonnay characters, lovely ginger and stone fruit notes then finishing with just a brush of almond nuttiness via the French oak. Superb wine.

Scores

92 / 100

"Sourced from a single site near Echunga in the Adelaide Hills. Some of the wine was fermented in French oak, and then spent 3 months on lees. It’s a fine-boned chardy with moderate alcohol (12.5), with nectarines in the mix backed by almond meal from subtle oak. A lot of finesse for the money. 92 points. BUY if you like the style."
