Tasting Notes
The Strathmore vineyard in Geelong is quite an interesting place, a massive vineyard planted between 1980-2000, it is uniquely broken up into different blocks with each planted to a specific style.
This wine comes from a single-clonal block of P58 Chardonnay. As a clone, it produces very fine, elegant, and linear wines. Picking time is key however, and the boys from Mulline nailed this one perfectly. Clean citrus and white peach dominate here, with a lovely creamy texture to round out the wine.
Despite the creaminess, there is real tension in this wine, the crisp malic acid component provides perfect counterbalance, keeping this wine singing pitch perfectly across the palate.

Scores
96 / 100"Barrel fermented with full solids, no mlf, matured in 25% new French barriques and puncheons. A bright green gold. Opens with aromas of white nectarine and peach, lemon verbena and grapefruit pith before revealing attractive savoury, nutty notes. There's real drive and persistence on the palate, too, which culminates in a long, mineral and chalky finish. Excellent."
