TASTING NOTES

Wynns Messenger Cabernet Sauvignon 2015 is a distinguished expression from Coonawarra’s renowned vineyards, celebrated for their exceptional terroir and rich winemaking heritage. This vintage is a refined sequel to the acclaimed 2010 release, showcasing the depth and elegance that Wynns is known for.

The wine opens with an inviting nose of mulberry and red cherry, delicately layered with subtle hints of lavender. On the palate, it reveals a juicy and sophisticated profile where vibrant blueberry flavors take center stage, supported by finely integrated French oak and silky, well-structured tannins. This balance delivers a smooth yet complex finish, making it a standout Cabernet Sauvignon.

  • Heritage Vineyard: Sourced from Wynns’ Messenger Single Vineyard, planted in 1975, one of Coonawarra’s oldest and most respected sites.
  • Terroir: The dry-grown vines thrive on deep soils, contributing to the wine’s concentrated fruit character and refined structure.
  • Exclusive Selection: Drawn from a premium private cellar, ensuring exceptional quality and authenticity.

Coonawarra’s cool climate and terra rossa soils are renowned for producing Cabernet Sauvignons with vibrant fruit intensity and elegant tannins, characteristics beautifully expressed in this 2015 vintage. Wynns Messenger Cabernet Sauvignon 2015 is a prime example of the region’s capacity to create wines with both power and finesse.

This wine pairs exquisitely with rich dishes such as grilled lamb, aged cheeses, and hearty mushroom risottos, making it a versatile choice for refined dining experiences.

A very intense, fine and elegant cabernet; taut and long. Dried herb and berry aromas. A suave, seamless wine with great fruit purity, harmony and finesse. Silken tannins. (Messenger is the southernmost vineyard in the single vineyard program, and needs a warm season to make it into bottle by itself. Previous bottlings were also warm: 2005 and 2010.)

Produced from Wynns' most southerly vineyard, this is a fragrant cabernet with engaging aromatics of blackcurrant and violet. It has remarkable intensity on the mid-palate as well as impressive length. The wine has an elegant flow, and the tannins are delightfully silky
