TASTING NOTES

This Chambolle Musigny Premier Cru from Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé is your invitation to savor elegance in every sip. Born from the young vines nestled in the revered Musigny climat, this wine is like Musigny in training—showcasing the promise and finesse of one of Burgundy’s most celebrated terroirs without demanding decades of patience.

Expect a gorgeously expressive palate that brings together juicy red cherry and delicate raspberry, wrapped in soft floral notes and a whisper of earthiness that keeps things grounded. It’s plush yet vibrant, a beautiful dance of freshness and depth that feels effortless.

Perfect for a cozy evening where you want to feel both relaxed and a little bit special, this is the kind of wine to pair with roasted chicken or a mushroom risotto. Wherever you choose to pour it, it’s all about savoring the moment and making a simple night feel utterly memorable.

It isn't always the case, but in 2012, the Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru, the estate's young vines Cuvee from Musigny, is a big step up from the villages. Plump, juicy and pliant, the 2012 blossoms in the glass with gorgeous depth. Veins of minerality and acidity support the distinctly red-toned fruit. Hints of white pepper, cinnamon and orange peel add a striking top register to an invigorating, fresh Burgundy that is going to be hard to resist in its youth. I very much like the combination of exuberance and focus here.

Deep but translucent ruby. An exceptionally floral nose displays cool and airy aromas that seem to be composed of essence of raspberry and dark currant along with plenty of spice nuances. There is an intense minerality to the medium-bodied flavors that possess fine mid-palate concentration, all wrapped in a saline-inflected and explosive finish that flirts with austerity before rounding off. 2012 is clearly a very powerful vintage for this wine and it is going to require plenty of bottle age.
