(from younger vines Musigny of less than 25 years of age). This is equally pretty and even cooler with its airy if slightly riper mix of both red and dark pinot fruit, violet, plum, exotic tea and all but invisible wood nuances. There is excellent volume and punch to the focused and quite powerful medium weight flavors that possess a caressing mouthfeel on the even more mineral-inflected finish that goes on and on. Note well however that this palate coating effort is very much built-to-age and is going to need it. *Outstanding*

The young vine Musigny is always a lovely bottle here and the 2015 is another fine example in the making, albeit, quite black fruity out of the blocks this year. The bouquet is deep, pure and sappy, delivering a fine constellation of black cherries, blackberries, raw cocoa, a nice touch of spice, woodsmoke, violets, excellent minerality and a nice touch of cedar. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and again, impressive soil signature for the vintage, with a sappy core, good acidity, moderate tannins and fine focus and grip on the young and promising finish.

The 2015 Chambolle Musigny 1er Cru, derived from young vines in the Musigny, offers up a lovely bouquet of black cherry, summer fruits, caramelized citrus peel and subtle espresso roast. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, supple and fragrant, with sappy acids, good concentration and a chalky chassis of tannin. Like the Chambolle Villages, this was rather dramatic in barrel but it's now beginning to shut down. 92+ / 100

Bright ruby-red. Briary red raspberry and boysenberry aromas show a touch of youthfully reduction. Higher-pitched and more imploded than the village offering, offering superb energy for the vintage. Possesses the thickness of the vintage but the dominant impression today is of a vertical wine with sharp definition. Redder in its fruit character than the Chambolle villages, lifted by high notes of rose petal, pungent minerals and spices. Delivers wonderful energy for the vintage.
