TASTING NOTES

This is the wine to reach for when you want elegance with an inviting, plush personality. Domaine Méo-Camuzet’s Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Aux Boudots 2023 perfectly balances the classic structure of Nuits with the round, fleshy charm you love about Vosne-Romanée.

Think generous red fruit flavors that wrap around your palate like a cozy sweater, with a subtle backbone that keeps things interesting but never harsh. This wine shines in its youth, revealing a harmonious maturity that feels both polished and approachable, especially with its soft touch of new oak from Tronçais. The tiny, concentrated grapes from vines dating back to the 1950s and 60s bring a ripe, velvety depth without any sharp edges.

Whether you’re savoring a quiet night with roasted duck or celebrating a special moment with friends, this wine invites you to find your place. Its poised yet plush character makes it a knockout for dishes with rich, savory flavors, or simply for those moments when you want to slow down and truly savor the experience.

A lively mid purple. While the bouquet indicates ripe fruit, this has kept well in balance. Still quite backward in its evolution, but the fruit quality on the palate merits attention. Darker cherries with a significant lift at the finish, and notable persistence. Indeed, the dark fruit stays in the mouth notably longer. 13.3% alcohol feels just right. Drink from 2032-2038. Tasted Nov 2024.

This is also reduced but not quite as severely. Here too there is fine volume to the round, velvety and highly seductive medium weight plus flavors that display focused power on the mouthcoating, serious and tightly wound finale that flashes very good persistence. This dusty and bitter pit fruit-inflected effort should repay 10 to 12 years of keeping but be reasonably approachable after only 5 to 7 years.
