TASTING NOTES

Grosset Polish Hill Riesling 2025 is an exceptional expression from the legendary Clare Valley, showcasing the vineyard’s renowned finesse and intensity. This biodynamically grown Riesling captivates with its aromatic complexity and electrifying mid-palate of pure lime juice, balanced by a distinctive slate-driven minerality and a bone-dry structure that defines its character.

Celebrated as Australia’s No.1 Most Collected Riesling and a staple among Wine Ark’s most collected wines, this vintage delivers both immediate pleasure and remarkable aging potential. Wine critic Campbell Mattinson awarded it 96 points, praising it as “a superb release” that is “as delicious as it is a statement on quality.”

The 2025 Polish Hill Riesling is fresh, bright, and intense, with a persistent length that reveals layered citrus complexity and a signature lingering finish cherished by enthusiasts. Its mineral backbone ensures it will age gracefully for up to 20 years, or can be enjoyed now to experience its youthful vibrancy.

Produced without fining and fully vegan and vegetarian friendly, this wine reflects Grosset’s commitment to sustainable, biodynamic viticulture. The Clare Valley’s unique terroir, characterized by its slate-rich soils and cool climate, imparts a distinctive minerality and precision to the Riesling, making it a benchmark for Australian white wines.

Experience a wine that combines powerful intensity with elegant refinement, perfectly suited for those who appreciate a bone-dry Riesling with depth, complexity, and longevity.

Bright and expressive, with aromas of lemon blossoms, kaffir limes, green apples and crushed slate. The palate is finely etched and vibrant, showing zesty acidity layered with citrus, white peach and mineral flavors. Persistent and tightly wound, with excellent clarity and length. A fine bottling of this famed wine that balances power and restraint. Drink or hold. Screw cap.

Get your orders in now. The 2025 vintage of Grosset Polish Hill Riesling maintains its place as Australia's best - and much sought-after - dry riesling. It will be released on September 1 and will probably be sold out soon after. Jeffrey Grosset reports that "pristine fruit culminated in exceptional wines" and I certainly fell in love with the precision and panache of this flagship Clare Valley riesling from a year that Grosset says shows the full benefits of biodynamics in the vineyard. You'll find the classic acid-driven lemon, lime, grapefruit notes, but also some impressive vitality and texture. Pair this will the best fresh crayfish, scallops or prawns you can find and serve simply, so both wine and food shine. Delightfully delicious. 97/100.

Quite pale green-yellow in the glass, restrained and reserved on the nose with pristine lemon blossom and steely mineral aromas. The palate opens with again reserved flavours but great intensity, an impression of ripe-fruit sweetness in the centre before a finish of yeasty/pastry and lime/citrus flavours, white pepper and slaty acidity. Long carry, cleansing and appetisingly more-ish aftertaste. Best cellar for a year or two, then drink for a decade and a half. 18 Jul 2025

The weight of the palate here feels special. In fact the presence of this riesling, which is essentially frisky and, at that, only a few months old, is pretty remarkable. It tastes of stones, bath salts, florals and citrus, a gunmetal aspect lurking within. The purity of the fruit here, and the power of it, and the chalky, stony impression of the finish, all served in the context of flavour-filled, mouthwatering acidity: it’s all as delicious as it is a statement on quality. Superb release.
