Tim Freeland and Domenic Torzi sourced this Pinot Gris from the panoramic Adelaide Hills' hamlet of Forreston.
Coupled with their non-interventional, vegan friendly approach to winemaking, Longhop wines are fresh, generous and full of flavour.
With this Pinot Gris expect freshly picked orchard fruits of pear, honeydew and apple. Food match with spiced eastern cuisines or oven-roasted vegetables, chicken or pork.

93 / 100"(2023 vintage). Gee, these Longhop white wines are very good in 2023. Dom Torzi is a gifted interpreter of white grapes, but don’t tell him I said that. This is from a 20+ year old vineyard in Forreston, sitting at 430 metres above sea level. Stuffed if I know why it’s called Pinot Gris, rather than Grigio. Green pear, a bath salts aromatic, green mango and dried herb, with lemon peel. It has crunch, a distinctly saline quality, lemon and lime zest, plenty of chalk to texture, and a savoury finish of excellent length. It feels Italianate, with crunch and freshness, a little nutty (raw almond) too, almost (good) Soave-like with a quinine tang and zing to close. Gee, it’d be hard to do better at this price point. Superb. Touch and go for 94 points."

"(2023 vintage). This Gris is made from low-yielding vines grown in steep, high terrain in the Adelaide Hills. More Grigio than Gris in my book, crisp and crunchy with a squeeze of citrus and green herbs. No overripe pears here, lovely style. Refreshing summer drinking."
