TASTING NOTES

Discover the Red Hut Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2025, a vibrant expression from the renowned Awatere Valley in Marlborough, New Zealand. Crafted from grapes grown on windswept hills, this wine captures the unique coastal terroir with remarkable clarity and finesse.

Carefully fully destemmed and cool-fermented on fine lees, this Sauvignon Blanc offers an enticing bouquet of lime, gooseberry, and passionfruit, complemented by subtle notes of lemongrass and fresh herbs. The meticulous winemaking process enhances its aromatic intensity and complexity, delivering a truly refined sensory experience.

On the palate, the wine is bright and dry, showcasing layers of green apple, lime zest, and tropical citrus, all enriched by a gentle lees creaminess that adds depth and texture. A defining streak of minerality and crisp acidity guides the wine to a long, refreshing finish that embodies the pure essence of Awatere: focused, coastal, and full of vitality.

Accolades include a Silver Medal with 92 points from NZIWS, alongside 90 points from respected critics Huon Hooke ("Quite Lovely Wine") and Kasia Sobiesiak ("Elegant is the first thing that comes to mind"). These distinctions underscore the exceptional quality and elegance of this vintage.

This Sauvignon Blanc pairs beautifully with fresh oysters, Thai salads, or goat cheese, making it an ideal choice to elevate sophisticated dining occasions or casual gatherings alike.

Experience the Red Hut Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2025—a wine that perfectly balances lively fruit intensity with refined structure, capturing the spirit of one of New Zealand’s most celebrated wine regions.

This wine is very well put together. It feels honest; it’s not the most complex wine on earth, but it knows it. Delivery is straightforward: uncomplicated pleasure with enough interest matching the change in your pocket. Cherry, mulberry, cranberry, plums, toasted oats, crunchy biscuits, leafy notes with jasmine perfume, crushed twigs. Fruity, perky tannins. Clean winemaking, good fruit, good stuff. Value for sure.

Red Hut is a new value brand out of New Zealand, marketed in Australia by Fourth Wave, with wines made by Corey Ryan.
The palate is full and firm with ample tannins and a bit more stuffing than usually found in pinot at this price.
