TASTING NOTES

Shaw & Smith Sauvignon Blanc 2025 exemplifies over three decades of winemaking excellence from one of Australia’s most respected producers. Crafted from hand-picked fruit and gently fermented in stainless steel under cool conditions, this Sauvignon Blanc showcases a masterful balance of vibrant fruit intensity and elegant finesse.

The wine undergoes maturation on lees followed by early bottling, which enhances its texture and complexity without compromising freshness. On the nose and palate, it reveals an exuberant interplay of tropical fruits, zesty citrus, and subtle herbal notes. This initial brightness seamlessly transitions into a more serious expression marked by fine acidity and a delicate, mealy texture that lingers beautifully.

For decades, Shaw & Smith Sauvignon Blanc has set the benchmark for Australian Sauvignon Blanc, consistently delivering wines that are fresh, aromatic, and pure. Renowned for their meticulous craftsmanship and commitment to quality, Shaw & Smith continues to lead with this signature style, making the 2025 vintage a compelling addition to their legacy.

This wine reflects the unique terroir of its region, where cool climate conditions contribute to the crisp acidity and vibrant aromatics that define the vintage. The 2025 release maintains the brand’s reputation for producing exceptional wines that combine approachability with complexity.

Perfectly suited to enjoy on its own or paired with seafood, fresh salads, and light poultry dishes, the Shaw & Smith Sauvignon Blanc 2025 is a refined expression of Australian winemaking tradition and innovation.

Perhaps one of Australia's most recognisable white wines, or at least one that delivers reliable quality and drinkability each year. It's charming in its glide and gloss to texture, a little bite of freshness through the finish. The perfume and palate match well in green pear, light passionfruit and guava notes, pretty citrus lift and a faint riff of green herbs. A good intensity and concentration of flavour. It's pretty and pitch perfect; nails the variety and has a sense of upfront charm.
