Tasting Notes
Grain whiskey doesn’t often take centre stage, but this one has charisma to spare. In the glass, it’s pale gold — clear, fresh, quietly elegant. The nose is instantly inviting: soft vanilla, marshmallow, lemon blossom, warm sugar cookie, and a faint herbal lilt.
The palate is light but not empty — think butterscotch candies, toasted coconut, clean grain, and a splash of citrus soda. There’s a purity to it, but also playfulness. A flicker of oak gives it shape, while the bourbon cask influence brings that soft, familiar sweetness.
Mid-palate offers more — rice pudding with nutmeg, sweetcorn bread, a little white chocolate. It’s subtle but well-formed. The Busker Single Grain doesn’t pretend to be something it’s not — it simply shows how good grain can be when given the right treatment.
The finish is short but clean — vanilla bean, lemon zest, and a gentle whisper of malt. An easy drinker, but not a simple one. A whiskey with a smile and good stories tucked in its pocket.
