Imagine the end of the world… and someone still distilling. That’s the mood here. This peated expression isn’t your Scottish thundercloud — it’s smoke off eucalyptus branches, campfires beside iron-red cliffs. In the glass: deep amber, glinting like scorched gold.
The nose is wild — smoked apricot, charred gum wood, old leather, and the hint of ash trailing off into floral bush honey. It's raw, grounded, ancient. The palate delivers layered intensity: sweet cereal malt met by roaring smoke, black tea, dark chocolate, and toasted herbs. The texture is full-bodied but agile — a prowler, not a brawler.
It finishes long and earthy — smoke woven through citrus oil and native spice. If Islay is thunder and sea spray, Lark Peated is lightning above dry forest. Beautifully wild, uniquely Australian.
